It is absolutely possible to use our website for information purposes without any personal data being collected. However, if you contact us via our contact form or if you use the services offered on our website, please note that your personal data (hereinafter referred to as ‘PDS’) will be processed by us, where applicable.

The processing of PDS, in particular the name, address, e-mail address and telephone number of the data subject shall always be in line with the General Data Protection Regulation (hereinafter referred to as the ‘GDPR’) and in accordance with the data protection provisions applicable in France to the individual business with limited liability (Entreprise individuelle à responsabilité limitée – E.I.R.L.) 2.  Nature of PDS collection

Users may be required to provide Nawal Benhlal Only Translations EIRL (hereinafter referred to as ‘Only Translations’) in its capacity as data controller, with information and PDS concerning them, such as their surnames, first names, IP addresses, connection and navigation data and e-mail address. Some PDS are mandatory, other optional, to access or benefit from certain services on the Site, such as newsletters or contact forms. The mandatory or optional nature of the data is indicated at the time of collection by an asterisk. In the absence of communication of the mandatory PDS, Only Translations will not be able to respond to the user’s request.

We process your PDS in accordance with the applicable legal provisions. We will only disclose PDS to third parties in accordance with the law. It is not transferred outside the European Union.

We reserve the right to pass on some personal data to our subcontractors and other third parties with whom we work, such as other translation agencies or freelance translators. We are allowed to do this:

  • if the data subject has given consent to the processing of his/her personal data on our site (Article 6(1)(a) and Article 7 of the GDPR);
  • if we are required to do so by contractual or pre-contractual obligations (Article 6(1)(b) GDPR);
  • by virtue of a legal obligation (Article 6(1)(c) of the GDPR); or

4.  Purpose of the processing

We collect and process PDS from users of our Site to facilitate communication and information sharing with you (including through our contact form and quote request form) in order to ensure the functionality of our Site, to optimise it and to ensure the security of our IT systems.

The collection, storage and processing of this information and PDS are mainly for the following purposes  

  • manage and improve the relationship between Only Translations and users;
  • to allow the functioning of the Site;
  •  to be used in the management of commercial relations between Only Translations and users;
  • to allow Only Translations to respond to requests from users of the Site;
  • to allow Only Translations’ publications, newsletters and information to be sent to users at their request; and,
  • to enable Only Translations to comply with its legal and regulatory obligations, in particular with regard to security.

5.   Legal Basis for the Processing of Personal Data

Our processing of PDS is always based on one or more legal grounds. As a general rule, we are allowed to process PDS

  • if the data subject has consented (Article 6(1)(a) and Article 7 of the GDPR);
  • if we are required to do so by contractual or pre-contractual obligations (Article 6(1)(b) GDPR);
  • by virtue of a legal obligation (Article 6(1)(c) of the GDPR); or
  • if we need to safeguard our legitimate interests (Article 6(1)(f) GDPR).

6.  Retention period

The data controller shall process and store the data subject’s PDS only for as long as is necessary to achieve the purpose for which it was collected or for as long as is required by the European legislator in its directives and regulations or by any other legislator enacting laws and regulations applicable to the data controller.

As soon as the purpose of the collection has been fulfilled or the retention period stipulated by the European or other relevant legislator has expired, we will block or routinely delete PDS in accordance with the legal provisions.

Exercise of rights

7.   Information and Access/Erase or Lock (‘right to be forgotten’)

You have the possibility to obtain information about your PDS at any time. You are entitled to know the origin and destination of your PDS and to be informed about the purpose of the processing of your data. In addition, you have the right to ask us to correct, lock or delete your PDS free of charge. For this purpose, please refer to the contact details in our legal notice. 8.  Right to object (Art 21 GDPR) 

The European legislator guarantees any data subject the right to object at any time to the processing of his or her PDS, on grounds relating to his or her particular situation and in accordance with Article 6(1)(e) and (f) of the GDPR.

9.  Data Portability (Art 20 GDPR) 

The European legislator guarantees the right of every data subject to receive, in a structured, commonly used and machine-readable format, the PDS he or she has previously provided to the controller. He/she shall also have the right to transmit those data to another controller without hindrance from the controller to which the PDS have been provided, where the processing is based on consent pursuant to Article 6(1)(a) of the GDPR or Article 9(2) of the GDPR or on the basis of a contract pursuant to Article 6(1)(b) of the GDPR and the processing is carried out solely by automated means, insofar as the processing is not necessary for the performance of a task carried out in the public interest or in the exercise of official authority vested in the controller.

In addition, the data subject of the processing of his/her PDS has, in the exercise of the right to data portability and according to Article 20, paragraph 1 of the GDPR, the right to obtain that his/her PDS be transmitted directly from one data controller to another, where technically possible and as long as this right does not affect the rights and freedoms of third parties.

10. Right to withdraw consent in accordance with the Data Protection legislation (Art 7 (3) GDPR) 

The European legislator guarantees to any person concerned by the processing of his or her PDS the right to withdraw consent to the processing of his or her PDS at any time. Withdrawal of consent does not affect the lawfulness of processing based on the consent given prior to that withdrawal.

11. Right of appeal to a supervisory authority

You always have the possibility to lodge an appeal with a data protection supervisory authority.
